How to Create Digital Products That Sell

How to Create Digital Products That Sell.

Have you been thinking about adding digital products to your product suite?

Digital products are in high demand right now as more and more people are spending time online.

A digital product is any product that can be sold virtually. It comes in digital form and can be downloaded and or accessed via the Internet.

The Benefits of Digital Products

I love digital products because I create them ONCE and sell that one product a thousand times.

Another benefit of creating digital products is the ability to help more people.

If you work with people providing 1:1 services like coaching or consulting, there are only so many clients you can work with day to day.

But by also offering digital products, you can serve even more people no matter where they are in the world.

Your Ideal Clients

The first step in getting started with digital products is to know who you are creating the product for and what problem it will help them solve.

Knowing your ideal client is critical is this first step.

  • What is keeping them from reaching their goals?

  • What do they need to know?

  • What resources do they need?

  • How much time do they have?

Once you have a good idea of what's keeping your ideal client stuck, the next step is to create a solution that will help your ideal client move forward.

Creating Digital Products

Digital products come in many forms. The most common form of a digital product is video content like webinars, masterclasses, workshops, or courses.

Another form of digital products is PDF documents like templates, printables, planners, swipe files, worksheets, ebooks, etc.

Before we jump into creating new digital products, review the content you already have. You can easily repurpose previously recorded videos/audios and use them to create new digital products.

If you don't have content, you can create new content for your digital product by:

  • Recording a series of 15 mins videos, group them into modules, and deliver your solution as a course.

  • Recording a 1-hour video for a webinar, masterclass, or workshop.

  • Recording a series of audios for an audiobook.

Stack on your digital product's value by adding templates, a planner, swipe files, or a workbook to your video or audio content.

Pricing Your Digital Products

Digital product pricing range from $10 - $997. When pricing your digital products, remember to keep a few things in mind.

  1. Your Audience. Do not make the mistake of outpricing your audience. Knowing your audience is also knowing what they can and can not afford at this time. An example of this is if your target audience is single working moms struggling to get out of debt. You may not want to offer her your $1997 course on how to buy a house. Instead, she may be suited for a $47 workshop that teaches her how to eliminate debt.

  2. The Value. Even though you do not want to outprice your audience, that doesn't mean you want to cheat yourself. Price your digital products based on their value, even if that means your ideal client has to stretch a little.

Marketing and Selling Your Digital Products

Marketing and selling your digital product is the over all goal. Which is why you want to start talking about your digital product before you sell it.

A few ways you can do this is by:

  • Sharing the benefits around the digital product you are creating.

  • Sharing behind the scenes images and videos on your digital product in the marking.

  • Create a waitlist, so your audience knows it's coming.

When your digital product is ready for the market, introduce it by hosting a challenge or a launch party.

The more excited your audience is about your digital product, the better.

After the launch, set up automated systems to ensure your digital product continues to be marketed.

You can do this by creating an evergreen Facebook Ad funnel, add the digital product to your website or shop, and write a blog article or two about your digital product and it's benefits.

Don't stop at just one digital product. Create as many as your audience needs.

I would love to hear from you.
